BMX FREESTYLE PARK

TO EXPLODE THE CLAP-O METER

BMX Freestyle Park is one of the most democratic of FISE competitions, characterised by aerial tricks made possible by the shape of the structures and the speed of riders. While the technicality of tricks is very important to the scoring, other criteria – such as the use of the whole Park and originality of the chosen lines – are also key components of evaluation. The World Cup is organised in collaboration with UCI and FFC.
es lignes choisies permettent aussi d’évaluer cette discipline. La Coupe du Monde est organisée en collaboration avec l’UCI et la FFC.

BMX FREESTYLE FLATLAND

WHEN SPORT MEETS ART

The simplicity of a flat surface and the creativity provided by 20-inch bikes make BMX Flatland the most artistic urban sports discipline. Riders combine expertise, balance and creativity to perform a kind of dance with their bike, where the subtlety of each trick and overall aesthetics of each run are always admired. The competition is placed at the heart of the festival and has rapidly become a staple of FISE. The World Cup is organised in collaboration with UCI and FFC.

ROLLER FREESTYLE

TO MAKE YOUR HEAD SPINE

Roller Freestyle Park is designed with structures that enable athletes to achieve maximum speed as they string together aerial tricks and assorted slides. Each run is judged on the individuality of the rider as well as on their technical skills and range. Since its launch, the community has been committed to preserving the integrity of the sport and to promoting its lifestyle. The World Cup is organised in collaboration with World Skate and FFRS.

PARKOUR

JUMP THE WORLD

The urban discipline of Parkour has been popularised partly through the movies. It’s all about getting from one point to another with the utmost efficiency of movement. In Speed Run, athletes have to overcome obstacles as quickly as possible to get to the finish line. In Freestyle, they have to use the obstacles to express their style and creativity as they cross them. The World Cup is organised in collaboration with FIG and FFG.

SKATEBOARD STREET

THE ROOTS

Initially a simple way to get about, Skateboard expanded in the 1980s to become the democratised sport it is today. The influence of its way of life emanates from the collective imagination of many cultures and the sport continues to expand thanks to its inclusion in Tokyo 2020. Street riders create runs where tricks and commitment count as much as versatility of line. The competition is organised in collaboration with World Skate and FFRS.

SCOOTER FREESTYLE PARK

FOR THE NEW GENERATION

Scooter Freestyle is a recent and rapidly growing discipline that has quickly found itself rubbing shoulders with other sports and sharing their spots. Thanks to its easy accessibility, many riders start very young and go on to perform the high level of tricks that help enhance the discipline’s credibility. The presence of a rotating handlebar allows for tricks similar to those of BMX, although it has its own very distinct qualities.

BOULDERING

TO DEFY THE LAW OF GRAVITY

Bouldering is the most explosive and spectacular climbing discipline. Athletes gave to scale walls with only a mate for safety. Using their power, coordination, and adaptability, athletes have to climb as fast as possible. Competitive intensity is increased when the contest is run in a dual format meaning climbers race the course side by side. Recently added to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games programme, this fresh discipline is rapidly growing in popularity.

BREAKING

FOLLOW THE RHYTHM

Breaking, created in the Bronx in the 1970s, combines body movement and music. The basis of this urban discipline is gestural harmony and rhythm together with technical skill. Dancers can express themselves with a style based on their own identity. Breaking includes four main types of movement: Toprock, Downrock, Power Moves, Freezes. The competitions are organised in collaboration with WDSF and FFD.

WAKEBOARD

THE AQUATIC DISCIPLINE

Wakeboard was introduced in the early ’80s and is often described as a cross between Waterski and Snowboard. Athletes attach their feet to the board and use it in both directions to facilitate the sequence of tricks which are judged according to difficulty and the height at which they are made. These can be launched on the modules arranged close to the line of the water ski lift, or by using only the momentum given by the latter.

MOUNTAIN BIKE

A BREATH-TAKING COURSE

A particularly aerial discipline, MTB Freestyle is practiced on the massive structures of a Slopestyle. Thanks to bikes calibrated to be easily manoeuvrable while resisting the impact of landings, the riders perform a maximum number of tricks between the start and finish line. Complexity of the tricks, quality of execution and amplitude are evaluated.
Mountain Bike is one of the fastest growing discipline with exponential growth in the number of participants, fans, events and cutting edge bicycle technology!

BMX STREET

BACK TO BASIC

The BMX Street playground comprises benches, quarters, rails and other types of stair that have been manufactured to reproduce the outdoor layout of urban centres. The evaluation criteria favour the expression of each rider’s individual style; the educated audience particularly appreciates riders who go beyond the usual routines and launch original and subtle trick/module compositions

SPINE RAMP

BMX - SKATEBOARD - ROLLER - SCOOTER

TO EXPLODE THE SHOW

Whatever the discipline, Spine Ramp is all about putting on a show. Riders execute their runs using each side of the ramp and the central ridge as crowds gather around the structure. Although the tricks differ in BMX Freestyle, Skateboard, Scooter Freestyle and Roller Freestyle, all disciplines appreciate the versatility of the ramp structure.
